LECTURER IN ESL (Part-time)


LECTURER IN KOREAN


The Center for Language Education at the Johns Hopkins University invites applications for a full time Lecturer in Korean for the academic year 2014-2015. 

This position is renewable annually based on performance, need, and funding. Responsibilities of the successful candidate will include teaching three levels of Korean (a total of 12 contact hours a week).

Minimum qualifications include:
1.   M.A. in Korean linguistics and pedagogy, applied linguistics
2.   Native or near-native fluency in Korean and English
3.   At least 3 years experience in teaching Korean as a foreign language at the university level
4.   Strong computer literacy (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).

LECTURER IN ESL (Part-time)


The Center for Language Education at Johns Hopkins University seeks a part-time Instructor in English as a Second Language (ESL) for the 2014 summer Intensive English Language Program. The position begins June 30 - August 1, 2014.

The instructor will be assigned to teach one or two courses during the five-week program in TOEFL Preparation, Accent Reduction, Listening and Speaking, and/or Reading and Writing. In addition to teaching, the instructor is expected to attend an orientation meeting prior to the start of the program and participate in placement testing on the first day. Candidates are also encouraged to attend various events including the closing certificate ceremony on the last day of the program.

Minimum qualifications include an M.A. degree in TESOL, applied linguistics, or related fields; experience in teaching at the university level as well as strong computer literacy.
